POST-TOURNAMENT REACTIONS2007 FEEDBACK“I would like to thank the ACST for inviting me back to Hong Kong, to take part in the Ichor International Hong Kong Cricket Festival 2007. The friendship and entertainment during the three days of competition was brilliant to be a part of and I enjoyed it all immensely. To see the way that the various levels of competition worked so well, especially the Women’s Division, was a credit to the organisation of this truly international event. “Congratulations to the Waratah-Mayfield CC on their tour to Hong Kong and on winning the Women’s Division, the Shanghai Dragons for winning the Cup Division, as well as to all the others who won the many awards presented at the Festival. I would also like to thank my special hosts and team mates, the CBBs, who ensured that I was looked after at the ground and socially throughout the whole weekend.” “Thanks for a fabulous weekend at the Sixes. Although I didn’t get to play I’d rate it as the best ever (maybe that’s why!).” “I would like to thank Brad, Mark, Kevin, Kim and all the others who assisted in making the HK tourney another great success. Most important of all the entire tournament was played in a very good spirit and you could witness this on the faces of players and officials. The Women’s teams were brilliant and thanked me many times for umpiring at their games which you seldom hear when you umpire men’s games. On the whole the festival was a total success and I hope it will grow and improve in the years ahead and I look forward to be given the opportunity to offer my services once again.” “I endorse the comments of my colleague Ramesh when he said the tournament was, without fail, played in exactly the right spirit in the old-fashioned way we all fondly remember. Most of the other teams are great guys and it is good to see so many regular friendly faces. Our highlight of the weekend was beating our long time friendly rivals the Macau Scrubbers in our first game. I guess my highlight was bowling the first over against Whale and Cyrus. Whale padding up to the first ball was classic, him missing the next two was equally as so.
